About Diamonds

The cost of a diamond is based on two things – its weight and its quality. The shape – round as opposed to fancy shapes – has some small effect also. The following outlines the standard quality designations for color and clarity. A factor ignored by many is the kind of cut of the stone. The diagram below simply shows the difference between the good and bad cuts as far as one set of angles in the cut, but it illustrates the greatest effect of a cut that departs from the accepted standard of a good cut today. This departure produces far less brilliance and overshadows any other shortcomings in the diamond.

I select diamonds for good color and clarity, of course, but I place equal and sometimes more
emphasis on the quality of the cut of the diamonds.  My sources for diamonds are the very best
and quality for quality I am able to price them at the lowest level available.

When visiting me for the first time when inquiring about diamonds, you will receive a short lesson in diamond qualities – all that you will need to make the proper choice for your diamond purchase. Mountings are another matter and require a much more extensive selection process. I will ease both these selections for you to make it a pure pleasurable experience.
